Al Groh's record at UVA is 59-53 and he has the 2nd best record of ALL TIME!! UVA needs an athletic department and football coach that truly wants to be competative. ALL of the "olympic" sports are consistantly among the nation's elite. What's the difference? Before jumping me on this one, remember that pro football linemen have the most difficult of jobs with all the variety of blocking schemes they have to know. You can't be a big dumb ape and be a lineman in the NFL.

We need new faces in the program. We don't need any coaches that have been here.We are after a fresh start.

I agree... I would rather go after a coach will no previous ties to UVA. A fresh start after Groh is what is needed to hopefully pull the program out of the doldrums.

It's all about youth, in my opinion. I think Tony Bennett is a great hire for UVA. I think Virginia football needs to go with someone under 50. I like the idea of a former Cavalier player being the head coach, but I think Virginia should not hire anyone with Al Groh ties.

Agree with huskerinva here, we need a young, up and comer, similar to the Bennett hire. If Petersen is gettable, we should get him. I like the Navy Coach as well....or if Charlie Strong is that good, then get him.
