"Our goals for the UVa football program will remain the same. We will pursue winning and excellence in all facets of the University experience for our student-athletes, both on the field and in the classroom. There are a number of excellent coaches we backgrounds and styles align with our goals and values," Littlepage said. "When you combine our aspirations with the institutional commitment to athletic facilities and resources, I believe that the job of head football coach at UVa will be attractive to some outstanding candidates." What random up-and-comer will Littlepage find this time?

Al Groh is not alone when it comes to the inability to deliver wins on a consistent basis. Let’s not forget Dave Leitao and as good a coach as Pete Gillen was before he came to UVA, his tenure here was disappointing as well. Let’s hope the university hits a home run this time instead of settling for a single to right.

It is just not Al that needs to go. The university needs to pick Sports or Academics, they can't have both

Hoosfamily makes an excellent point....while most other programs can be successful consistently, in football, you need to bend academic standards some.
That's why the Hokies are successful right now..and UVa is not.

I suggest that Al Groh go over to Craig Littlepage's House and help Craig pack his bags and go with Al Groh, Craig has chooze too many losers already.

This administration has made some pretty good hires as well. Besides men's basketball, football, and volleyball, the athletic department is on fire. I know the Olympic sports don't make the money, but UVA has some great coaches.
