It was inevitable and mercifully done quickly after the end of this disappointing season. The real fun begins now... I would expect a decision after the bowl games are finished but who knows. Stay tuned...

It's Been 9 Long Years Of Having Groh As Head Coach Of The Cavaliers. We Have Lost To Tech 9 Times In Ten Years, Thats Pretty Sad! This Year Has Been The Worst Since 1982.. Sewell Should Have Never Even Came Back All He Does Is Fake Injurys We Havent Had A Good Quarterback In Awhile. Groh Never Really Played Vick Hall Until This Yr Then He Finally Relized He Was A Great Player When It Was 2 Late! Groh Should Have Been Fired Along Time Ago! Hopefully We Wont Get Some Drugged Up Drop Outs As Players For The 2010 Season!

This should have happened after last year. Hopefully they move fast to get something in and give us a good recruiting class for 2010 to start the rebuilding project.

Let's not throw around false accusations of faked injuries. Knowing Jameel and a few other players on some level, I will tell you that they appreciate the game, their college careers, and the fans enough not to fake an injury.
I've been saying Groh needed to be out since my fourth year at UVa, and that was a few years ago. I'm glad the administration finally listened to the common sense voice in the back of their heads and got rid of him. I'm sure Groh is a great man, and a good person to be around, and the players really respect him as the leader of their family. However, it's a real shame that it took an average attendance of less than 50,000 people, and such a loud cry from alumni (and donors) to get rid of him before they did. It's an even greater shame that we had to endure this bad a season before we let him go. The damage is already done to the program. What will this do to recruiting? What will this do to the psychie of the kids coming back next year? At least the fanbase will be re-energized next season by a new coach. s for him that the first game is at USC!!

I've never had too much compassion for a CEO not getting the job done and then getting 4.33 million to say good-bye. In Beamer's 5th yr he gave $50K back because he didn't get the job done. I'm sure Al Groh is a good man but who deserves this kind of money to not do anything? Performance expectations should dictate whether he's entitled to the remainder of his contract. You would think a law school like UVA could write a contract that rewarded good performance and penalized poor performance. 4.33 million to walk away. Come on Man!!!

Now that Groh is out we should just leave him alone. Although I agree it's time for him to go, he has done a lot of good for UVA's football program over the years.
